About the project

Junkiri in English means a firefly. A beetle that self illuminates and symbolizes 'making things happen'. Our project 'junkiri' focuses on giving Post Earthquake counseling, emotional and psychological support to children and illuminating their lives after the earthquake. In order to provide such counseling and emotional support to the children, we will be putting up child friendly camps with the objective to divert the children's mind from the recent Natural disaster that hit Nepal on 25th April 2015 through art, sports, games, music, etc in order to give them a normal life.

AIESEC in Kathmandu had two of the camps set in  Ghamarchowk and Lapse, Sankhu.

The project went on for 3days in each village. Children of age 3-15 years joined the camp
We had 30 volunteers who took the time and effort to come up to the project which is quite difficult to travel to.
